| Proteas women surge in ICC T20 rankings

Cape Town – Sune Luus, Chloe Tryon, Shabnim Ismail and Ayabonga Khaka moved up the latest ICC Women‘s T20I player rankings following their comprehensive series victory against Bangladesh.


The Proteas went onto clinch the T20I series 3-0 after winning by 23 runs in a rain-affected game on Sunday.

In the latest , Luus topped the batting charts by making 104 runs – with a best of 71 – in the series took her up 12 spots to No 26.

Proteas skipper Dane van Niekerk stayed at 13th place, all-rounder Mignon du Preez slipped two spots to No 16 and Tryon moved up No 22 – a jump of three places.

In that last category too, Luus was the big mover, up four places to No 17.

In the bowlers‘ table, Ismail moved up two places to sixth position, joint with New Zealand‘s Lea Tahuhu, while Van Niekerk (up one spot to joint 13th) and Marizanne Kapp (up one spot to No 22) moved up too, and Khaka rose seven spots to 58th.
